PH2021 PASSIVE HOUSE TOURS – An In-person Attendee Benefit

As a benefit of in-person conference attendance, the following site tours are being made available – FREE. Be sure to register for the conference in person prior to registering for the tours.

The tours are organized in collaboration with New York Passive House.

There are limited spots available and will be treated on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. Registration here is not a guarantee of attendance. We will confirm with you, the day before each tour date – if not sooner.

Window Factory (Tours #1 & #2)

Pick-up and drop-off at Conference location, 125 W 18 ST, New York, NY

1:30-5:30 PM, Wednesday, June 9 and Saturday, June 12

Come visit Wythe Windows Passive House window factory in Ramsey, NJ. While on this tour you will see how a window goes from design and then through the whole manufacturing process. Learn about the power of our fully automated production line. Discover and analyze all the unique components that make our high-performance tilt turn window. And a sneak peek at our new expansion and showroom under construction. Tour lead by Wythe Window co-founder Darren Macri. (Note there are two tour dates.)

Sendero Verde (Tours #3 & #4)

East 111th Street & Park Avenue, New York, NY

10-11AM & 11:30-12:30, Saturday, June 12

One of the largest Passive House developments in the world, taking up an entire city block, this affordable housing development was designed by Handel Architects and is in mid-construction. Tour the job site with architects Ryan Lobello and Louis Koehl.  (Note there are two tour times.)

Convivium (Tour #5)

515 E 86th Street, New York, NY

1-2 PM, Saturday, June 12

A new highrise Passive House rental apartment building designed by Arquitectonica with Passive House consulting by Steven Winter Associates, and completed in 2020. Tour to be lead by consultant Michael O’Donnell of Steven Winter.

Engine 16 (Tour #6)

223 East 25th Street, New York, NY

1:30-2:30 PM, Saturday, June 12

A 140-year-old building, originally built as a fire station is currently being converted into a mixed-use Passive House, designed by leading Passive House architects Baxt Ingui.  Tour will be lead by the architect Amy Failla.

37 Sidney Place (Tour #7)

Brooklyn, NY  

3:30-4:30 PM, Saturday, June 12

Passive House renovation underway of private 19th Century townhouse, also by Baxt Ingui with the tour lead by architect.
