Treehugger Design Editor, Lloyd Alter provides perspective and context on the importance of the new PHN PHribbon.

Lloyd Alter, a long-time Passive House advocate and author of the new book Living the 1.5 Degree Lifestyle writes about the PHN PHribbon, adding important context for our launch. He says in part:

“…According to the ACAN report, “The Climate Footprint of Construction,” it can total more than 75% of a building’s lifetime carbon emissions. I have written that it could eventually be even greater, in what I have called my ironclad rule of carbon:

“As we electrify everything and decarbonize the electricity supply, emissions from embodied carbon will increasingly dominate and approach 100% of emissions.”
