NAPHN19 conference team are pleased to confirm Prof. Dr. Diana Urge-Vorsatz will deliver the address at our VIP Dinner, scheduled for Thursday, June 27th, at The Park. Dr. Urge-Vorsatz was part of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) team that shared the Nobel Prize in 2007 with Al Gore. She is the coordinating lead author for the IPCC Report chapter on buildings.  

Ms. Urge-Vorsatz shares a special connection with the United States. She received a Fulbright scholarship to UCLA and completed her PhD studies at UC Berkeley.  She joins us from Budapest, Hungary, where she is a professor and served as the Director for the Center for Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Policy at the Central European University – a graduate-level, private American not for profit university accredited in Hungary and the U.S. She will participate in the full conference program as part of our policymakers sessions where she will share updates on the targets identified by the IPCC required by the building sector to deliver the goals outlined by the 2015 COP21 Paris Agreement.
