The Passive House Network (PHN) and Connecticut Passive House (CTPH) are excited to offer our first hybrid Certified Passive House Designer course to professionals in Maine.

The Spring CPHD Cohort offers you the benefits of an on-demand self-paced course which includes 2 instructor-led webinars that dive into passive house calculations plus weekly reviews to discuss course content as it relates passive house work in Connecticut.

The schedule below lays out a 16-week path from introductory course content to taking the exam.

  • Passive House Planning Package (PHPP)

    • Individual software license
      • Download link emailed from 475 week before class begins
    • Physical manual
      • Requires Microsoft Excel 2007 or higher
      • Shipped from 475 week before class
  • CPHD/C exam registration
  • Exam preparation materials, activities, a supplemental preparations course
  • Q&A Review sessions w/ Passive House professional in Connecticut
  • Site visit to Passive House project
  • Certificate of completion and 35 LU/HSW AIA credits
  • Upon passing the CPHD/C exam participants will receive certification as either a Passive House Designer or Passive House Consultant, depending on your credentials.

This schedule breaks down the course content into weekly chunks of around 2 hours of content. Additional time requirements for the 2 3-hour Instructor-led webinars will be needed, plus optional weekly meetups.

Review sessions will be recorded and available afterwards. However, we highly recommend attending live.

July 21st Exam Schedule*

The CPHD course’s Module 15 has an overview of the exam preparation process. 1-2 weeks prior to the beginning of the exam preparations (for your registered exam), you will be given access to an additional exam preparation course and platform to continue your exam preparations.
