Course Overview
It’s the same robust core Passive House Designer (Consultant) Training but newer and better! The training content has been updated with market-ready information, plus now there is added flexibility with self-paced learning. This training is appropriate for a wide range of building professionals and stakeholders that want to know the guts of what makes Passive House tick and build a foundation of knowledge to integrate Passive House to meet personal goals. Participants include architects, MEP and structural engineers, facade, energy and sustainability consultants, contractors, developers, policymakers, regulators, and more.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Outline the basic building science principles of the Passive House Standard
- Determine strategies for implementing the principles in both design and construction phases.
- Describe the role of the Passive House energy model and how its relationship to component selection, detailing and execution.
- Explain basic energy calculations based on typical building assemblies.

Great course overall but the various issues with the quizzes were more than frustrating. Issues I had include, minor things such as being unclear about how many decimal places are expected, something that is only brought up at the end of the course, questions that were demonstrably wrong, based on the course material, and being asked questions on things that weren't in the course material. 3.5/5

I appreciated the course on the whole. For me, the lack of opportunities to ask questions and interact with the material was a significant limitation. Without that component, the course should be longer with more examples and discussion of differing outcomes depending on different conditions and selections. Once there are more participants and a forum develops, this issue may be alleviated.
